People At Work

This year the Innovation for Development Lab (i4DLab), now in its second edition, will focus on AGRITECH and is dedicated to supporting technology startups that are impacting Africa's agricultural sector and empowering African farmers. Each organisation will submit a brief about a particular challenge they face and attendees will be invited to ideate solutions to help address their challenges. Come along to co-innovate and share ideas with like-minded social innovators who are passionate about using their business and technology skills to positively impact Africa.
The startups that will be participating are:
Zazu
Zazu is an end-to-end e-commerce and logistics platform that allows retailers and food processors to trade directly with farmers. Their SMS-powered marketplace means retailers can source large orders from previously unreachable rural farming communities. Zazu leverages technology to improve the lives of farmers by enabling them to increase their profits.

WeFarm
WeFarm is ‘The internet for people with no internet’ – a peer to peer knowledge sharing platform for small-scale farmers in rural communities in Africa and Latin America.
Access to relevant, useful information is one of the biggest challenge facing the 500 million small-scale farmers around the world. With WeFarm, they can ask questions addressing anything from farming techniques to business ideas and receive useful, peer-sourced answers from around the world.
