One of Vita International and Afronline’s freelance journalists, Salih Amar Hamid, has won a prestigious media competition held by the Thomson Foundation. The competition showcases work being produced by trainees on the Sudan Media Capacity Building Project, and the prize is a study tour in London. The awards ceremony was hosted by the Ambassador Michael Aron at the Residence, complete with red carpet.
Salih Amar Hamid “wrote a powerful story about migrants in Sudan” says the Thomson Foundation’s Helen Scott. The article was published in both English and Italian, and provides an account of the lives of refugees in Sudan, as well as an in-depth analysis of the wider migration phenomenon stemming from Sudan that also reaches Libya, Egypt, and Europe.
